The Downtown Night Out & Cruise-In
The Downtown Night Out & Cruise-In has become one of the most well-known and attended events in the history of our little town. Sponsored by our local Chamber of Commerce, it is a themed event held on the 2nd Saturday of each month in our downtown district to promote our local businesses to the citizens of our town and surrounding areas.
Each event is themed to reflect either the season or a specific upcoming event or holiday. There are always a number of food vendors on hand and a lot of other entertainment for kids of all ages. Contests, live music provided by bands and local DJ's, sidewalk art, you name it.
The Cruise-In has grown tremendously and we now get folks bringing in their custom street rods and beautifully restored antiques from all over the region.
North Carolina Folk Arts Festival
The North Carolina Folk Arts Festival is our premier event and is held on the 2nd Saturday in May of each year. This is by far the single largest event we hold. The event is held to showcase the local folk arts such as cane weaving, pottery, hand-crafted jewelry, folk decorations, wood carving, blacksmithing, folk dances, Native American costumes and jewelry, cooking, art, crafts and much more.
There are lots of activities for both young and old. Several stages allow a number of musical acts to perform, dance teams to show off their moves and any other acts to perform. We have a LOT of great local musical talent and they know how to entertain.
This is just one event you don't want to miss! You can find out more HERE or contact Samantha Bertram at 910-774-0762 or the St. Pauls Chamber of Commerce at 910-865-3890.
4th of July Fireworks Display
The 4th of July fireworks display is a patriotic gathering of our people for some great fun. The whole town turns out for the show and there are usually a lot of great things for everyone to enjoy. The evening fireworks show has grown to a huge event from relatively humble beginnings.
The St. Pauls VFD puts on the fireworks show for all and they make it a great event! Several thousand people show up from towns all around to kick back and relax during an evening of brightly lit skies and big smiles.
St. Pauls High School Homecoming Parade
One of the most fun events for everyone, the annual St Pauls High School Homecoming parade is loaded with musical talent. Our high school kids can play some great music, there are the floats from all of the school clubs and organizations, all of the Kings & Queens are represented, the cheerleaders, boosters, bands, Junior ROTC, and so much more. This is the traditional start of our fall festivities and what a way to get things rolling!
The entire town comes to a stop for a few hours and when things start back up, it's with a sense of renewed pride in our children and the things they will one day accomplish.
The St. Pauls Christmas Tree Lighting, Parade & House Tour
Each year on the Friday after Thanksgiving at 6:00 PM, the Town of St. Pauls holds the traditional Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at the Memorial Park Grounds. This begins our Christmas Season and heralds the start of a number of other Christmas Time events.
The St. Pauls annual Christmas Parade is the 1st Saturday in December of each year and is sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce. Santa sets up shop each year to hear from the children, there are floats galore, Christmas Music is playing everywhere, and it's a great time for one and all. The entire town gets involved for this one too. Just about every Town department is involved in one aspect or another. Kids of course are the ones with the huge eyes as all of the Christmas Floats roll by with Santa, Reindeer, Mrs. Claus, Elves, and of course PRESENTS abound. This has been a mainstay of our little town for over 55 years and counting!
The Christmas House Tour is a wonderful event if you are looking forward to seeing beautifully decorated homes, both inside and out. A number of our area citizens open their homes to a walking tour of the Town and enjoy the spirit of Christmas as well as the great company of friends. Join us on the next tour! Tours are held on the 2nd Sunday of December each year.
