St. Pauls Town Board Workshop November 2011

A Board Workshop of the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the Town of St. Pauls was held on Monday, November 28, 2011 with Mayor M. Gordon Westbrook presiding. Commissioners present were: Sandra Cain, Ghee Johnson, McClure Terry, Jr. and David Ayers. Absent: Commissioners Jerry Weindel and Sam McAllister
Other Town Officials present were: Chief of Police Thomas Hagens, Town Administrator Stuart Turille, Public Works Director Wayne McDuffie, Town Clerk Karen Davis.
Mayor Westbrook called the meeting to order and turned the meeting over to Town Administrator Stuart Turille. Mr. Turille introduced Ms. Kelly Martindale of Prudential Insurance who was present to inform the Board of another retirement plan available to the employees. This is a voluntary plan and each employee would contribute, not a salary deduction. The Board may also contribute to this particular plan.
Mr. Turille asked the Board about ordering new tourism books. He was told that they needed to be updated before ordering more.

a. Yard debris policy
b. Construction and demolition ordinance
c. Stormwater ordinance
2. Swearing in of re-elected officials in December
3. Planning Board and ABC Board members expiring
4. Grant writing proposal from Porter Scientific
5. Leachate meeting on Wednesday at 9:00 am and possible Memorandum of Understanding. Public Works Committee meeting to follow at 10:00 am
6. Raising fee on zoning applications from $50.00 to $150.00 or cost
7. Video Games
8. 413 E. McLean Street (foreclosure or condemnation as dilapidated home
9. 222 W. Pate Street (title search is underway)
10. Billboard - at the Chamber meeting, St. Pauls High agreed to develop a design
11. Holidays - Christmas Parade/Night Out - December 3 at 3:00
Christmas Party Wednesday, December 14 at 12:00 pm
12. RPO Transportation Advisory Committee meeting will be held in January
13. Robeson Municipal Meeting is tomorrow at 7:00 pm at Robeson County Department of Social Services
14. Neil is reviewing transcript to see if we have an appeal of the Adjudicator’s decision on the unemployment claim for DMV worker.
